Adriana Fernandes was born and raised in Brazil, where she graduated with honors in Classical Ballet and Physical Education with a concentration in dance.
As a dancer, Adriana performed many original works in addition to a classical repertoire including The Nutcracker, La Bayadere, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Don Quixote, La Esmeralda, Diana and Acteon, Paquita, Le Corsaire, and Raymonda.
Adriana comes to BCW with 20 years of teaching experience and holds teacher certifications from both American Ballet Theater ABT® and Autism Movement Therapy®. She has developed her teaching methods to focus on the individuality of a dancer’s body, and their unique capabilities, while keeping the process safe, fun, enjoyable, and inclusive for all students. Adriana has directed and choreographed for the Malibu Civic Ballet, created two youth ballet companies, and fulfilled a childhood dream by creating a dance program for children with disabilities.
Adriana joins Ballet Conservatory West as a part of the ballet faculty.
